Queer author, educator, and interdisciplinary artist from Havana, currently based in New York. Jacqueline Herranz Brooks develops project-based work integrating documentary photography, soundscape interpretation, multimedia installation, and urban interventions. With a strong interest in the fictionalization of real personal events, this body of work includes several autofiction books such as Liquid Days (Argentina, 1997), Escenas para Turistas (New York, 2003), Mujeres sin Trama (New York, 2011), Viaje en Almendrón (AB, 2015), and Contested Territory: Poesía Rematriada (México, 2023). Holding a Ph.D. in Latin American, Iberian, and Latino Cultures, Jacqueline's current research focuses on the intersection of literary theory, criticism, persona, and performance studies.
